Emily's Song Ratings. Next Stop Silver Screen for this Amazing LA Production?
Emotional and deeply exciting, Emily's Song had its world premier at the Husdon Theater in Los Angeles this winter. The latest from New York Times popular author, Chet Holmes, it earned unbelievable popularity at each performance. Clearly there was no concern that this ravishing musical attracted LA theater goers, but the reviews are now in and most pundits distinctly concured with the fans that Emily's Song was an incredible success and a welcomed addition to Los Angeles' classically outstanding theater scene.

On top of that, The Star Scoop recapitulates Emily's Song: "The tagline is: "an epic musical journey straight to your heart". It really is. It's a big story. You can expect to laugh, expect to cheer and expect to cry... people were really, really raving".
Reactions about this vibrant play also made the online social networking sites, seconds following the end of the world premier. Peter Guber, with Mandalay Entertainment, tweeted as soon as Emily's Song was over: "Emily's Song is a movie waiting to happen and Chet Holmes will make it so". On the same social network, Tony Robbins, a viewer, gives a heartfelt message: "I attended a magnificent play called Emily's Song in LA. It's a must see - the story of a father & daughter that made everyone cry".
Splash Magazine wrote: "Director Chet Holmes has assembled a fine company of actors to tell this bittersweet story of love, loss and the sustaining power of music". But Lindsey Haun, the actor behind Emily Everson, received numerous good critic surveys. LA Weekly was so happy with her abilities that evaluated her as being "the highlight of the show!". Billboard Magazine thinks about Haun: "Hers is a voice that could command any genre. It takes a half-listen to fall in love with her inherent passion and pure, raw talent". Nevertheless, the The most positive rating for Haun's talent is awarded by The Los Angeles Time: "Emily's Songs have heart, delivered with conviction by rocker Lindsey Haun". Haun's adaptation of Emily was also enjoyed by the audience, one audience member, Donna Dibenedetto, confessing that while "everyone was great... Lindsey took my breath away with her singing". Haun can currently be seen as Hadley Stackhouse on HBO's Trueblood, and will soon perform the main character in the indie feature House of Last Things.
Chet Holmes recognizes that this play "is a massive story. That's what I saw in previews for the first time in front of a live audience. You have an instinct as a writer; you think this is a great story, but what writer doesn't? And every story has some personal elements to it, no matter who you are". Holmes also adds some thoughts about the objective to transform this script into a feature film: "Heck, yes! Now that I've made it as a play, I see every place to polish it as a feature. I thought it would be a great feature, just the way it sat, but now there won't be a false note".
Holmes recently passed the screenplay The Strongest Man on Earth which in the present has a publishing proposal. He has submitted eight more screenplays, which include The Mercenary, Kings of the Earth, Spartacus 2010 and Above All Else.
